ABOUT THIS DIVE RESORT

DIVE

Imagine diving in the world’s biggest aquarium, the Great Barrier Reef and experiencing crystal clear water with an amazing array of marine life.

Since being declared a Green Zone ( a no-take, fishing or spearfishing area) in 2003, the marine environment around Lady Elliot Island has gone from ‘Great’ to ‘Amazing’! The diversity, quantity and size of the marine animals are truly remarkable.

A Manta Ray cleaning station is situated close by so Manta Rays are a common sight year-round ( with more visiting in the months May-August), Humpback whales cruise by making their way to the North for breeding (seasonal) & the coral is in healthy condition with an array of fish species all living in the eco-system.

You can snorkel and dive from the shore but the dive boat will take you to the outer reef sites, which is a short trip. With over 20 dive sites & two dives per day, you will have great variety each dive.

The average water temperature in winter reaches 27°C/80.6°F, in spring 26°C/78.8°F, in summer the average temperature rises to 22°C/71.6°F, and in autumn it is 23°C/73.4°F. Visibility ranges as well but remains 20 meters plus year-round.

Great experience & is listed as one of the "Top 5 to dive with Manta Rays" in the world!
