THE SEA WOMEN of MELANESIA PROGRAM by THE CORAL SEA FOUNDATION & CICI
The Conflict Islands - a private resort - offering its accommodation & diving to you.
The resort is inviting interested divers to support the Conflict Islands Conservation Initiative (CICI) & the Coral Sea Foundation - The Sea Women of Melanesia Program. The women in the program, are all from the local Milne Bay area & will be trained in how to protect & conserve the marine environments for the next generations of Papua New Guineans.
Staying in a twin-share, well-appointed Bungalow, you can participate in the Woman’s day program, and see the women grow & learn. When not participating (the choice is yours on the amount of participation), two dives per day are offered from the boat or from the shore with a guide. Relax after diving on your own bungalow veranda or enjoy the beautiful pristine island. The time is yours.
This is an amazing opportunity to see not only how the CICI & Coral Sea Foundation look at reef conservation, but your support for these ladies will be rewarding, as they will be the advocates of marine conservation for the future!
The Conflict Islands Resort is located on Panasesa Island. With very well appointed, classic style wooden Bungalows, each with its own beach facing veranda. The main building is a two-story wooden building set back from the beach with a large outside deck & a private balcony on the second floor. Inside is an air-conditioned lounge & dining area which you can use to relax & unwind. The spacious outside wooden deck, has sun lounges, cushioned chairs. The perfect place to sit back & watch the sunset. With a chef preparing your meals you are assured of quality food, with each meal sourced from the ocean as well as special imported Australian Beef. Fresh fruit & filtered water is available from the main saloon area throughout the day, as well as a small bar with alcoholic drinks (at extra cost). When you are not diving you can use the kayaks or perhaps try the Stand-Up Paddle boards. With access to the crystal-clear waters & the amazing flora & fauna you will always find something to do.
The waters around Conflict Islands boast a third of the world's species of marine fish, from tiny ghost pipefish to huge manta rays & pilot whales.
